NSERC reorganises industry partnership grants

The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada has reorganised its industry-focused partnership grants, to make them easier to understand and to streamline applications.

The changes include the elimination of the Level 1 Applied Research and Development grant, which supported work collaborations between companies and colleges, and the inclusion of college-industry partnerships in the Engage Grants, along with university-industry projects. The Level 2 and Level 3 ARD grants will be combined into a single grant, with two levels of funding and matching.

Finally, the former Interaction Grants, Regional Opportunities Fund and Partnership Workshops grants will be combined into a Connect Grant to provide a simple way for researchers to meet and work with industry partners.
