Nova Scotia’s Productivity and Innovation Voucher Program, which provides funding for businesses to commission research from the province’s universities, has opened for applications.
"Our academic institutions have tremendous expertise and technical solutions to offer,” said Stephen Duff, the chief executive of Innovacorp, Nova Scotia’s organisation for early-stage venture capital, which runs the programme. “We want this programme to strengthen connections between researchers and industry, and we want it to improve companies’ ability to compete in the global marketplace."
The voucher programme has two tiers. Tier one offers vouchers of up to C$15,000 for applicants that have not been awarded a voucher before or are applying with a new project. Tier two offers vouchers of up to C$25,000 to build on work done through a previously awarded voucher.
