Robots to patrol prison

The South Korean government is due to pilot a 1 billion won ($875,000) scheme that will see robots act as wardens at one the country’s prisons in the latest in a series of government initiatives aimed at boosting its robotics industry.

The month-long trial will take place in March 2012 at a jail in the eastern city of Pohang and will involve three robots.
