Tenth navigation satellite launched

China launched its 10th navigation satellite on 2 December.

The satellite, part of a network of satellites called Beidou, or Compass system, was launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre in south-western Sichuan province and was boosted by a Long March carrier rocket.
