Fears of widening research gap with China

China is pulling further ahead of India in the quality and quantity of its scientific research output, according to a report in the Times of India.

An analysis shared at the 99th Indian Science Congress, which concluded at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology in Bhubaneswar on 7 January, showed the impact of China’s growing research budget at a time when the growth in funding for Indian research is below 1 per cent per annum.
