Universities reopened despite continuing strike

The Sri Lankan government has allowed the reopening of all state universities despite the intensifying lecturers’ strike.

The higher education minister, S B Dissanayake, announced on 5 September that the 21 higher education institutes would resume operating immediately and admit the entry of new students in a month.
