Japan Prize-winners announced

Two scientists who work with semiconductors and one who works on marine biology have won this year’s Japan Prize.

Grant Willson and Jean Fréchet are honoured in the materials and production category for their work in developing materials for semiconductor manufacturing. Wilson is a professor of chemistry and chemical engineering at the University of Texas at Austin in the US. Fréchet is vice-president for research at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia.
