China loosens restrictions on international innovation

The Chinese government has adopted a raft of measures to encourage entrepreneurship and attract business talent from abroad.

On 12 July China’s state council agreed to establish a digital business registry and to enable one-stop registration for foreign enterprises, the state-run news agency Xinhua reported.

At a meeting chaired by premier Li Keqiang, the government agreed to simplify the procedure for work and residential permits for skilled international applicants. Authorities will also encourage overseas Chinese students to return and start businesses.
