China plans innovation ‘ecosystem’

China aims to complete a technology transfer system to better disseminate the benefits of innovation, the government has announced.

The Chinese government expects to establish the foundations of its technology transfer system by 2020, according to a plan published on 26 September. It proposes to create national technology and manufacturing innovation centres to promote the dissemination of major technologies, the Chinese newspaper 21st Century Business Herald reported.

The system is intended to boost innovation and economic development across China’s territories. It will target bottlenecks in the development and manufacturing of new technologies, to help turn scientific research into marketable products.
