Research and innovation related to space and the polar region likely to be “encouraged”

EU member state ministers are set to call for greater use of space-related research, innovation and technologies to study the Arctic and shape policies for the polar region.

A draft paper published on 3 October stresses that “space solutions play a crucial role” for EU policymaking related to the Arctic, which has become a focus of political attention because of climate change.
