UKRI names e-infrastructure head

James Hetherington will help develop the e-infrastructure sector of UKRI’s Infrastructure Roadmap

Computer scientist James Hetherington has been appointed director of e-infrastructure at UK Research and Innovation.

Hetherington will work alongside Mark Thomson, executive chair of the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) to develop the e-infrastructure sector of UKRI’s Infrastructure Roadmap, leading on strategy for software, skills, clouds, data services and supercomputers, the funder announced on 18 October. He begins the role at the start of 2020.
