SA hosting of research integrity conference welcomed

Cape Town-based 2021 meeting will help Africa fight unethical practices, say NRF officials

Writing in the South African Journal of Science, two top officials at the country’s National Science Foundation have welcomed the awarding of the 2021 World Conference on Research Integrity to Cape Town, South Africa. 

Molapo Qhobela and Gansen Pillay—NRF’s CEO and head of research and innovation support and advancement, respectively—write that they hope hosting the conference on African soil will increase African participation. The 2019 conference in Hong Kong involved only 24 African participants out of a total of 701.
