Greater use of evidence-based teaching and learning can be achieved through ‘mindset shift’, EUA says
Universities should make greater use of evidence—such as case studies, models, performance assessment and feedback—in their teaching and learning activities, a report by the European University Association has recommended. This would help institutions better achieve their goals while upholding their values, it said.
“In institutions where both education and research are fundamental missions, approaching teaching with an evidence-based perspective should become the norm,” said the report published on 19 March, which was based on work carried out by a dedicated EUA working group.
