Funding council data show universities on track to hit participation target

Universities in Scotland are on track to hit a metric set by the Edinburgh government for the number of the country’s higher education entrants to come from its most disadvantaged areas.

According to data published by the Scottish Funding Council on 7 April, 15.9 per cent of Scottish-domiciled entrants to full-time first degrees in the 2018-19 academic year were from the 20 per cent most disadvantaged areas.
