Researchers, doctors seen as more important to nation’s future than politicians and business

Researchers are widely viewed with confidence, particularly medical researchers, according to a survey carried out on behalf of cancer-fighting body Fondation ARC.

The two-phase study, which took place before and during the coronavirus quarantine, revealed that the French public holds researchers in high esteem and is particularly interested in science to fight cancer. The coronavirus pandemic seemingly raised the profile of research, with public esteem of medical scientists increasing steeply, according to the results.
