Playbook considers the implications for universities of Boris Johnson’s address to the nation
It had been trailed and built up as much as a new series of Strictly—so it was little surprise that prime minister Boris Johnson’s pre-recorded address to the nation last night received a critical response and succeeded only in raising more questions than it answered.
Professor Matt Lucas of George Dawes University summed up many people’s initial response to the address as succinctly as anyone. Nonetheless, there was much to consider for higher education in Johnson’s slow reveal of what the nation hopes are the first tentative steps towards an easing of the lockdown.
