Commission planning to change setup of R&D partnerships

Rules for Joint Undertakings are due to change as partnerships are tweaked for 2021-27

The European Commission is working on revamping the legal basis of Joint Undertakings, the EU-funded public-private R&D partnerships in areas including aviation and drug development.

Speaking to the European Parliament’s research committee on 16 June, research commissioner Mariya Gabriel (pictured) said her team was planning to split the laws for Joint Undertakings into three parts.
