A network of UK academics responsible for equality and diversity has accused the body in charge of the Athena SWAN charter of diluting and delaying the implementation of suggested reforms.
Managed by Advance HE through the UK Equality Challenge Unit, Athena SWAN accreditation was designed to help universities support the career paths for female researchers. Achieving accreditation under the scheme is a requirement of some research funders.
