Research organisations urged to disclose their assessment practices and how they address bias
Science Europe, the association of research funders and performers, has urged organisations like its members to conduct a “broad reappraisal” of the assessment processes they use to award grant funding and promotions.
“There is a need to consider how assessment processes should evolve in the future to ensure they remain effective,” Science Europe president Marc Schiltz said in his foreword to a paper published on 9 July, which set out recommendations on assessment for research funders and performers.
