Promising signs for private investment and female innovators, Commission says
The pilot of the European Innovation Council—an EU funding scheme for commercialising research and growing young companies that is set to begin in earnest from 2021—is having a “strong positive impact on the innovation community”, the European Commission has claimed.
“I am extremely proud of what the EIC has achieved in its current pilot phase,” EU R&D commissioner Mariya Gabriel said in a foreword to a report on the scheme published on 22 September, which she said “brings together an impressive set of data and examples that demonstrate a range of high-impact endeavours”.
