Three-year review is being downsized to focus on Covid-19 rather than long-term plans
Chancellor Rishi Sunak has scrapped the three-year comprehensive spending review in favour of a one-year review, sparking further uncertainty about how the government intends to increase R&D spending.
“This announcement inevitably creates uncertainty and puts an even greater emphasis on effective advocacy for science funding,” Graeme Reid, chair of science and research policy at University College London, told Research Professional News.
