Almost 150 European parliamentarians ask European Commission to explore options for the two nations
More than a fifth of the European Parliament—144 MEPs—have signed a letter asking the European Commission to explore ways for Scotland and Wales to stay in the EU’s Erasmus academic exchange programme.
The letter, addressed to Commission president Ursula von der Leyen and R&D and education commissioner Mariya Gabriel, expresses deep sadness and concern over the UK government’s decision to discontinue the country’s participation in Erasmus from 2021.
