Grantees from other parts of Horizon Europe will be eligible for EIC funding
The European Innovation Council, which is being expanded in the EU’s 2021-27 Horizon Europe R&D programme to support R&D-based small businesses, will have an instrument for supporting grantees who have benefited from other parts of the programme.
Mark Ferguson, chair of the EIC’s advisory board, said at a launch event for Horizon Europe on 2 February that the EIC would fund “transitional activities”, listing this funding as a third kind alongside that provided by the Accelerator and Pathfinder instruments carried over from the EIC’s pilot phase.
