Finnish university sees 2020 funding boost and expanded student numbers as Covid-19 curbs expenses
The University of Helsinki saw an increase in its core funding by €13 million in 2020 despite a fall in external funding due to the coronavirus pandemic.
A report on the university’s operations, released on 21 April, showed that it emerged from the 2019-2020 academic year with €20.3m in the bank during a period marked by prolonged campus closures to limit the spread of coronavirus.
