French government acts after reports surface of long hours and sexism at university hospitals
France’s ministers for health and research—Olivier Véran and Frédérique Vidal—have outlined a series of measures to protect medical and healthcare students and junior doctors.
The commitments were made last week, when the two ministers restated their promise of “zero tolerance” towards bullying and harassment at hospitals attached to universities. Véran and Vidal said they would suspend the accreditation to run internships of hospitals where students had been victims of such behaviour.
