Two-year grant will study challenges faced by academics
An African consortium has won funding from the Carnegie Corporation of New York for a study on the challenges and opportunities facing university faculty in East Africa.
The Demographics of African Faculty consortium announced the US$390,000, two-year grant on 29 July. The consortium involves the Association of African Universities, the charity Education Sub-Saharan Africa, the Population Reference Bureau, an independent research organisation on improving health and well-being, and the Inter-University Council for East Africa.
