Environment agency denies ‘ban’ on its scientists comparing notes while assessing potentially hazardous chemicals
Environmental Protection Agency scientists have complained to Congress, claiming managers have stopped them conferring with colleagues when assessing the safety of chemicals in order to increase the pace of their work, and that this has affected its quality.
Responding to the claims, a spokesperson for the EPA said the agency has no policy against staff consulting each other, and that it “promotes open exchange and collaboration”.
