Region will struggle to attract talent if institutions lose €25 million a year, say universities
Universities in Lower Saxony have protested against cuts to their budgets made by the state government that total about €25 million per year, warning that the move will hamstring their ability to compete with rival institutions.
“We, the senates of 11 universities in Lower Saxony, strongly object to the assessment that the cuts would be manageable,” the letter from the institutions to the state’s top minister, Stephan Weil, said.
