Charity calls for ‘sector-wide change’ to better address mental health issues in universities
Nearly three-quarters of university students in Scotland have low wellbeing, according to the country’s largest ever student mental health and wellbeing study.
According to the Thriving Learners survey, published on 18 November by the Mental Health Foundation charity, 74 per cent of students surveyed reported low wellbeing, while more than a third (36 per cent) reported moderately severe or severe symptoms of depression.
