AI firms told to partner with researchers to identify risks

           

Researchers “can offer important services to the assurance ecosystem”, according to government’s first AI roadmap

Organisations developing and using artificial intelligence should partner with researchers to identify and mitigate risks posed by the technology, the government’s first AI assurance roadmap has said.

Although assurance services—such as audit, certification and impact assessments—are common in sectors such as financial services and cyber security, tools for AI are currently relatively undeveloped, according to the roadmap, which was developed by the Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation (CDEI).
