Cultural institution desperate for more funding as host university struggles to provide finances
Science Gallery Dublin, a cultural institution housed in Trinity College Dublin, is set to close its doors at the end of February unless the university comes up with a last-minute funding model.
The gallery, which combines art and science in its exhibitions, was founded in 2008 as a vehicle for public engagement in Ireland. The university’s announcement last year that the gallery would close due to unsustainable financial losses was met with public shock and outcry.
