National health snapshot shows uptick in 2019-20, while academy aims to improve use of research
Spending on Australian health research jumped by nearly 10 per cent in 2019-20.
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare’s two-yearly report on the state of health in the nation, released on 7 July, says that around A$6.7 billion was spent on health research in 2019-20. That figure is an increase in real terms of 9.7 per cent from 2018-19.
