Research areas prioritised include diagnostic tools, infection control and therapeutic effectiveness
A set of research priorities intended to help prevent the spread of monkeypox—the infectious disease recently declared a public health emergency of international concern by the World Health Organization—has been published by the United States government.
The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) worked with the Monkeypox Research Priorities Team, comprised of experts from the US government, to produce the research plan, which was published on 21 July.
