European Research Council grant winner Savte Pääbo celebrated for furthering the understanding of ancient genomes
The 2022 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to a Swedish researcher for his discoveries on ancient genetics.
Savte Pääbo (pictured), a European Research Council (ERC) grantee working in Leipzig, Germany, won the 10 million Swedish krona (€920,000) prize for his work “concerning the genomes of extinct hominins and human evolution”.
