Three US astronauts and one Canadian will be first to approach moon for 50 years

Nasa and the Canadian Space Agency have named the four astronauts who will venture on a trip around the moon next year as part of the Artemis series of missions to return humans to the lunar surface for the first time since 1972.

Commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover and mission specialists Christina Hammock Koch and Jeremy Hansen will be the first people to fly to the vicinity of the moon in more than 50 years if their 10-day Artemis II flight launches as planned in November 2024.
