Union and employers point to problems with job security and inflexible industrial relations
The proposed Australian Universities Accord should be used to fix systemic problems with employment practices, the National Tertiary Education Union and employers have told the accord review panel.
In its submission to the panel, the NTEU said the discussion on reform had so far had “a relatively minor focus” on the workers who carry out teaching, research and professional support. It said that “myopic” university cultures need to be reformed.
