The epic voyage in the quest for Horizon continues

Once again, the UK has a new science minister. This time it is—thankfully and perhaps even joyfully—a temporary appointment. Secretary of state Michelle Donelan is taking what has been stressed will be a “short” period of maternity leave, and Norwich North MP Chloe Smith is stepping up.

Smith certainly seems to be on top of government talking points, saying that “innovation is the key to a brighter future” and dropping in the obligatory reference to “making the UK a science and technology superpower”.
