Women in top business jobs ‘still earning less than men’

The annual income of Australia’s female business executives is around $166,000 less than that of their male counterparts, a University of South Australia study has found.

Around 10 per cent of the country’s top 200 companies have no women in their executive leadership teams, despite more women being appointed to the boards of the top 200 as directors.

The findings have been released by the university to coincide with International Women’s Day on 8 March. A research paper detailing the study’s results is also published in the International Journal of Human Resource Management.
