The final guidance on making submissions to the Research Excellence Framework 2021 has been released by the UK’s four main funding bodies for higher education.
Criteria detailing how higher education institutions should make submissions to REF 2021, including evaluation procedures and what data universities must include, were published by Research England on 31 January following a consultation on its draft proposals last summer.
The guidance was published alongside information on submitting codes of practice and the assessment criteria of the panels. Universities will be invited to make submissions to REF 2021 in early 2020, with the deadline for submissions set for 27 November 2020.
